This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Create precise plumbing estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial construction projects.
• Analyze architectural, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and civil drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Conduct takeoffs for plumbing fixtures, piping, equipment, fittings, valves, and various plumbing materials.
• Generate material and labor estimates based on project scope, drawings, specifications, and historical pricing.
• Identify gaps in scope, discrepancies, conflicts, and missing information prior to bid submission.
• Request and coordinate pricing from vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers.
• Assemble comprehensive and competitive bid packages.
• Oversee multiple estimates and adhere to bid deadlines.
• Assist in developing pricing strategies and recommendations for project scope.
• Review, prepare, modify, and update AutoCAD plumbing shop drawings.
• Aid in plumbing layout, drafting, and making drawing revisions.
• Engage in BIM coordination, identifying clashes or design conflicts.
• Align plumbing layouts with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other trade drawings.
• Integrate design changes, field conditions, and revisions into drawings and documentation.
• Keep accurate drawing files, revisions, and technical documentation.
• Prepare and respond to RFIs related to plumbing scope, drawings, specifications, and coordination issues.
• Evaluate revised drawings and addenda, assessing their impact on scope and pricing.
• Create estimate revisions and change-order pricing.
• Provide support with submittals and product documentation.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, vendors, and construction professionals.
• Facilitate the transition from estimating and pre-construction to project execution.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating.
• Significant experience with commercial, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, retail, or mixed-use construction projects.
• Capability to independently perform plumbing takeoffs and create complete estimates.
• Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, materials, installation methods, and construction practices.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and construction drawings.
• Practical experience with AutoCAD; proficiency required.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and construction models.
• Experience in preparing, reviewing, or responding to RFIs.
• Competence in managing drawing revisions, addenda, and scope changes.
• Preference for familiarity with plumbing codes in New York, New Jersey, or the Northeast U.S.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, construction-related field, or equivalent plumbing trade qualification is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project specifications, plumbing codes, and ADA requirements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Comfortable working full-time during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
• Experience with Procore, Microsoft Excel, PDF markup and construction drawing review tools, digital takeoff and estimating software, and BIM software and coordination platforms.
• Familiarity with PlanSwift is preferred.
• Experience with Revit MEP, Navisworks, or similar BIM coordination software, plumbing shop drawings, large-scale multifamily or mixed-use developments, RFIs, plumbing submittals, and trade coordination is a plus.
