Estimator, Division 8

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify Division 8 scope requirements.

• Generate precise cost estimates for doors, frames, hardware, and locking systems.

• Conduct quantity takeoffs and perform material calculations.

• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to gather pricing and product details.

• Evaluate bid documents, addenda, and project specifications.

• Create and submit proposals and bid packages within designated timelines.

• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to discuss project needs.

• Keep organized records of estimates and project documentation.

• Spot value engineering opportunities and propose cost-saving solutions.

• Ensure estimates comply with company standards, project specifications, and industry regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) is highly preferred.

• At least 2 years of estimating experience in construction, doors and hardware, or a related field.

• Familiarity with Division 8 products, including doors, frames, hardware, and access control systems.

• Competence in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and construction specifications.

• Proficient in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication and time management skills.

• Robust organizational and coordination abilities.

• Effective communication skills with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

• Capacity to manage multiple software platforms and engage directly with contractors throughout the estimating process.

• Ability to multitask across several projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and adhering to deadlines.

• Capable of working across various product categories and workstreams, rather than concentrating on a single estimating area.

• Proficiency in managing multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Experience in commercial construction projects is preferred.
