Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Develop and deploy full stack features utilizing a Python/FastAPI backend and a React/TypeScript frontend.

• Produce rapid proof-of-concept work for demonstrations and client feedback.

• Enhance the AI agent with typed tools, input/output schemas, refined system prompts, and database-supported outputs.

• Evaluate LLM behavior using assessment suites and leverage findings to inform adjustments to prompts, tools, and models.

• Refine document extraction and classification pipelines for PDF, Excel, Word, and CSV files, incorporating LLM-assisted processes.

• Create data-intensive interfaces featuring tables, charts, maps, and real-time chat functionalities.

• Implement tests at all levels using pytest, Vitest, and Playwright.

• Review the pull requests of fellow team members.

• Contribute to infrastructure as code and CI/CD practices as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including the deployment of full stack features to production.

• Proficient in object-oriented design, SOLID principles, common design patterns, and legacy code refactoring.

• Experience in delivering at least one customer-facing product feature that incorporates an LLM or ML model.

• Familiarity with tool or function calling and structured outputs validated against schemas.

• Expertise in prompt design, versioning, and verifying outputs against source data to minimize hallucinations.

• Skilled in assessing model behavior using test sets or evaluation suites, focusing on cost, latency, and failure modes.

• Experience in streaming LLM responses to a user interface.

• Production-level experience with Python, FastAPI or similar frameworks, Pydantic, async Python, and SQLAlchemy or an equivalent ORM with migrations.

• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.

• Production experience with modern hook-based React, TypeScript, server-state management, and intricate data-rich interfaces.

• Automated unit and integration testing for both backend and frontend components.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, Git-based pull request workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proficient in professional working English.

• Capability to work autonomously within a small remote team.

• Practical experience with pydantic-ai, Vercel AI SDK, LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, or similar frameworks.

• Knowledge of embeddings, vector search capabilities such as pgvector, and hybrid retrieval methods.

• Experience with document AI, including PDF and table extraction, OCR, and semi-structured data classification.

• Knowledge of classical ML or applied statistics, encompassing regression, estimation, and confidence intervals.

• Experience with Terraform and AWS App Runner or ECS.

• Familiarity with geospatial technologies like Shapely, PostGIS, or Leaflet-style mapping.

• Exposure to domains such as real estate, construction, finance, or proptech.

• Security-focused engineering practices, including multi-tenant data isolation, authorization models, and secrets management.
