Mid Level Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Uruguay.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain data pipelines.

• Write SQL queries and create ETL/ELT jobs.

• Integrate data from various internal systems into the data warehouse.

• Take ownership of data modeling for regulatory reporting.

• Ensure data is organized, accurate, well-documented, and ready for audits.

• Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring within pipelines.

• Transition data processes from Salesforce/Conga to a modern data stack.

• Collaborate with Product Development regarding data and schema adjustments.

• Work together with Compliance colleagues on the business logic behind reporting metrics.

• Acquire knowledge of existing pipelines and report-generation workflows.

• Prioritize enhancements to the most critical business reports through data quality checks and monitoring.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL.

• Practical experience with a general-purpose programming language, such as Python.

• Strong fundamentals in ETL/ELT and data modeling.

• Experience managing a pipeline or data model from start to finish.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in data engineering.

• Ability to contemplate data quality and upstream failure scenarios.

• Comfortable with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.

• Excellent stakeholder management abilities.

• Clear and articulate written and spoken English skills.

• Capable of working effectively and empathetically in a multidisciplinary team.

• Confident in applying solid data engineering practices and patterns.

• Experience with companies in Europe or the US is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with Snowflake, DBT, Airbyte, Dagster, and AWS is beneficial.

• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.

• Background in a regulated industry is an additional advantage.

• No prior knowledge of pensions, UK financial regulations, or Salesforce is required to begin.
