This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and assist in the security of scalable application modules utilizing Java and Thymeleaf.
• Employ AI conversion tools alongside manual techniques to transition legacy PowerBuilder modules into a contemporary Java-based codebase.
• Collaborate with customer teams to assess technical specifications, facilitate seamless testing, and deliver top-notch code.
• Enhance application performance, reliability, and security.
• Engage in code reviews and offer constructive feedback to peers.
• Document technical processes and solutions comprehensively.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems effectively.
• Operate within Agile SDLC two- to three-week sprints, participate in daily scrums, and manage work in sprint software.
• Function within a DevSecOps delivery framework.
• Maintain automated CI/CD pipelines that build, test, scan, and deploy code efficiently.
• Address SAST, DAST, and software composition analysis findings and resolve vulnerabilities.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests to support continuous delivery and achieve coverage thresholds.
• Implement secure coding practices in accordance with OWASP guidelines and relevant DoD requirements, including pertinent STIGs.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust/NACI position is required.
• Bachelor's degree is necessary.
• Active/current 8140 IAT II certification is essential.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.
• Proven experience in building applications using Java.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, data structures, and backend best practices.
• Proficient in Thymeleaf and various Thymeleaf modules.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for backend development.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures, application refactoring, database migration, and SaaS integration.
• Capability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell are advantageous.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud architectures is beneficial.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory.
• Understanding of Git/Gitbash, Git etiquette, and branching strategies is required.
