Metering Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Become a part of Severn Trent Water’s Field Team as a Metering Technician.

• Collect meter readings effectively.

• Address and resolve customers’ billing inquiries.

• Communicate confidently with customers and assist them in technical matters.

• Evaluate and discuss the work performed by contract partners.

• Question the quality and efficiency of contract-partner work when necessary.

• Oversee jobs until they are fully completed.

• Share insights and experiences with the team.

• Manage customer escalations and handle complaints.

• Work on-site within communities and adapt to varying weather conditions.

• Adhere to set shifts: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00–16:00; Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00–15:45.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Full UK Driving License is essential.

• Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and influencing abilities.

• Capability to think critically for planning, prioritizing, and resolving work efficiently.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment as part of a remote team.

• Confidence in reviewing and discussing the work done by contract partners, as well as challenging quality and effectiveness when needed.

• Ability to ensure jobs are managed to completion.

• Skill in sharing knowledge and insights with the team.

• Competence in handling customer escalations and complaints.

• A proactive mindset and readiness to work on-site frequently.

• Comfort in outdoor working conditions across all weather types.

• Ability to quickly adapt to challenging situations.

• Customer-facing experience is advantageous.
