This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while expanding market share for the Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint product line within the designated territory in North America.
• Act as the main commercial representative for Koenig & Bauer's solutions in metal decorating.
• Offer consultative sales assistance from initial prospecting through to installation, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Seek out, qualify, nurture, and finalize sales opportunities for the entire MetalPrint product line.
• Establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers in metal decorating and key decision-makers.
• Recognize opportunities for new equipment, modernization, automation, retrofitting, and service offerings.
• Generate equipment quotes, commercial proposals, and sales presentations.
• Engage in consultative sales conversations that emphasize productivity, quality, sustainability, and return on investment.
• Facilitate technical discussions between customers and engineering as well as product management teams.
• Track customer activities, opportunity pipelines, installed equipment, and competitive insights using Salesforce.
• Compile weekly activity reports, monthly forecasts, and annual business plans for the territory.
• Take part in customer demonstrations, factory acceptance tests, installations, and startup activities.
• Represent Koenig & Bauer at trade shows, technical conferences, customer open houses, and industry association gatherings.
• Assist existing key accounts while also pursuing new business opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with service, project management, parts, finance, and product management teams.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitive technologies, sustainability initiatives, and new opportunities in metal packaging.
• Maintain a deep understanding of MetalPrint products, including printing presses, coating systems, drying technologies, automation, inspection systems, digital workflow integration, modernization, retrofitting, and service products.
• Formulate strategic growth plans for the territory and oversee a long sales-cycle capital equipment pipeline.
• Build trusted customer relationships throughout the lifecycle of the equipment.
• Report directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales; there are no direct reports.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Packaging, Printing Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant industry experience will also be taken into account.
• 3–5 years of experience in capital equipment sales is preferred.
• Experience in metal decorating, packaging, printing, converting, or industrial manufacturing sectors is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in selling complex engineered systems.
• Familiarity with long sales cycle capital equipment.
• Preferred background in beverage can manufacturing, food can manufacturing, aerosol packaging, metal closures, specialty metal packaging, metal decorating, or industrial printing.
• Willingness to travel frequently: approximately 50–70% domestic travel across North America.
• Occasional international travel for customer visits, training, and factory meetings in Europe.
• Capability to travel for extended customer visits, trade shows, and equipment installations.
• Strong consultative selling skills are essential.
• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
• Effective communication abilities with executive leadership and plant management.
• Financial insight including ROI and justification for capital investments.
• Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with global teams.
• Computer proficiency with basic knowledge of email, internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and other business software.
• Solid experience with control systems, software, and hardware related to printing equipment.
