This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and guide the management and expertise required for design phase activities across one or more simultaneous projects.
• Contribute to the identification, development, preparation, and presentation processes for acquiring new projects.
• Assess MEP options, conduct systems analysis, and provide various system alternatives.
• Offer insights during programming and conceptual design efforts.
• Coordinate life cycle cost analysis when selecting MEP systems.
• Review documents from project award through buyout, focusing on system sizing, coordination, interface, constructability, and logistics solutions.
• Identify potential challenges to the relevant engineering discipline.
• Develop value alternatives with associated costs and engage in mechanical and electrical value alternative reviews.
• Present detailed MEP estimates to clients and engineers.
• Maintain historical cost data for mechanical and electrical systems.
• Create budgetary MEP estimates based on program and schematic design information.
• Aid the bid team in analyzing market conditions and formulating bid lists.
• Lead or engage in the selection of MEP business partners, including solicitation, scope definition, design input, bid packages, proposal analysis, and final selection.
• Support project teams and on-site MEP resources during construction to guarantee that scope, quality, and schedule objectives are achieved.
• Assess mechanical and electrical modifications from business partners.
• Assist the Project Manager in developing contracts for MEP business partners.
• Incorporate 3D/4D modeling technology into preconstruction efforts.
• Foster relationships across various backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Lead by example, mentor team members, provide feedback, and manage performance.
• Carry out other assigned duties.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 10 years of construction experience, preferably with a Mechanical, Electrical Contractor, or within a Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing engineering firm.
• Minimum of five years of estimating or on-site project management experience in construction, or five years of design or project management experience at an engineering firm.
• Comprehensive understanding of building codes and their application in design and construction, including but not limited to, IBC, NFPA's, IMC, IFC, UFC, Energy Codes, or the ability to read and comprehend them.
• Strong skills in cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, initiative, and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with construction equipment and techniques, scheduling and cost control methods, drawings and specifications, and required standards.
• Active listening skills coupled with effective communication, including receptiveness to diverse feedback and input.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
