This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Coordinate and assist in ensuring enterprise compliance with MHPAEA and associated state mental health parity regulations.
• Aid in conducting Non Quantitative Treatment Limitation (NQTL) analyses, documentation, comparative assessments, and readiness for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee benefit designs, utilization management practices, provider network standards, reimbursement methods, and administrative procedures for compliance with parity.
• Collaborate with internal teams and delegated vendors to collect data, policies, procedures, and evidence for parity evaluations.
• Monitor regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and emerging requirements related to parity.
• Assist in the implementation of regulatory modifications.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests concerning mental health parity.
• Document findings, risks, mitigation strategies, and corrective actions; keep organized, audit-ready parity documentation.
• Coordinate issue resolution and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely remediation.
• Provide education and guidance on mental health parity requirements and compliance expectations.
• Engage in cross-functional workgroups and compliance committees.
• Assist with compliance reporting and updates for leadership.
• Maintain precise documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to PacificSource privacy policies and HIPAA laws and regulations regarding the confidentiality and security of protected health information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• At least 3 years of experience in healthcare compliance, behavioral health, utilization management, regulatory analysis, health insurance, or a related medical environment.
• A Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, legal studies, or a related discipline is required.
• An Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience, may be accepted in place of the required minimum work experience.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance operations and principles of regulatory compliance.
• Ability to analyze policies, processes, and comparative data to identify compliance risks.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and attention to detail skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in reading and comprehending both written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Knowledge of MHPAEA and behavioral health benefit administration is preferred.
• Experience in mental health parity, behavioral health operations, Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial health plan management is preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory audits, document reviews, and cross-functional collaboration is preferred.
• Advanced education or compliance-related certifications are preferred.
