This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Facilitate and assist in ensuring enterprise compliance with MHPAEA and associated state mental health parity regulations.
• Contribute to Non-Quantitative Treatment Limitation analyses, which includes documentation, comparative assessments, and readiness for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee benefit designs, utilization management practices, provider network standards, reimbursement methods, and administrative processes to ensure parity compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and assigned vendors to collect data, policies, procedures, and evidence for parity evaluations.
• Monitor regulatory guidance, enforcement activities, and emerging parity obligations.
• Aid in the implementation of regulatory changes.
• Assist with regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests regarding mental health parity.
• Record findings, risks, mitigation strategies, and corrective measures; keep organized, audit-ready parity documentation.
• Coordinate issue resolution and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely remediation.
• Provide training and advice on mental health parity requirements and compliance expectations.
• Engage in cross-functional workgroups and compliance committees.
• Support compliance reporting and updates for leadership.
• Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Meet the performance expectations of the department and company.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• Safeguard confidential information per privacy policies and HIPAA regulations.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare compliance, behavioral health, utilization management, regulatory analysis, the health insurance sector, or another medical environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, legal studies, or a related field is required.
• An Associate’s degree coupled with 2 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience, may be accepted in lieu of the required minimum years of experience.
• A solid understanding of health insurance operations and principles of regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in analyzing policies, processes, and comparative data to detect compliance risks.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to manage several priorities, uphold confidentiality, and work independently with minimal oversight.
• Proficient in reading and comprehending written and spoken English.
• Competent in communicating clearly and effectively.
• Ability to stoop, bend, sit and/or stand for extended periods, perform repetitive typing/sorting/filing tasks, and lift/carry files and business materials.
• Approximately 10% travel is required.
