This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
β’ Develop realistic and technically complex research challenges in drug discovery and development.
β’ Create tasks that necessitate the integration of incomplete, indirect, or potentially misleading scientific data.
β’ Formulate scientifically defensible conclusions that are supported by the available evidence.
β’ Compile structured data repositories utilizing real, source-validated scientific information.
β’ Ensure that critical values, observations, and experimental findings are traceable to reliable sources.
β’ Build evidence chains that lead to defensible conclusions while maintaining scientific integrity.
β’ Address issues related to structure-based medicinal chemistry, mechanistic enzymology, structure-guided peptide or antibody design, and fragment-based discovery.
β’ Assess molecular structure, binding, activity, selectivity, optimization, molecular interactions, mechanisms, kinetics, inhibition, binding evidence, structural interpretation, and compound advancement.
β’ Develop comprehensive grading documents and objective criteria for research-related challenges.
β’ Conduct verification and calibration, identify shortcuts or ambiguities, evaluate task complexity, and refine assignments.
β’ Act as a subject-matter expert for scientific and difficulty-related decisions.
β’ Review feedback, revise materials, defend scientific conclusions, and uphold stringent standards across prompts, evidence packages, and grading materials.
β’ PhD or equivalent industry experience in medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, structural biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a closely related field.
β’ Extensive working knowledge in at least one of the following: mechanistic enzymology; structure-guided peptide or antibody design; fragment-based drug discovery; structure-based medicinal chemistry.
β’ Significant experience in interpreting intricate experimental evidence within drug discovery research.
β’ Capability to construct scientific problems whose conclusions can be rigorously substantiated.
β’ Strong judgment in assessing the quality of scientific reasoning, not just final outcomes.
β’ Comfortable with complex, incomplete, and potentially conflicting scientific information.
β’ Excellent research, analytical, and technical writing abilities.
β’ Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the quality of scientific tasks.
β’ Proficient in utilizing browser-based research and development tools.
β’ Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week required.
β’ Work must be conducted without utilizing confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
β’ H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
β’ Reimbursement for required project-specific software or subscription access where applicable.
β’ Project timelines may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project requirements and performance.
β’ Fully remote working arrangement.
β’ Part-time schedule with a minimum of 20 hours per week and the opportunity for up to 40 hours per week.
