This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Confirm patient insurance details post check-in and ensure accurate and up-to-date insurance records are maintained.
• Analyze denied claims, determine the reasons for denial, assist in claim reprocessing, and follow up on any missing information.
• Examine and process Explanation of Benefits documents while clearing any EOB backlog.
• Address outstanding insurance balances and resolve patient account discrepancies.
• Assist with Cigna and Veterans Affairs claims processes, which includes tracking and escalation as necessary.
• Manage vendor payments, including issuing checks when required.
• Oversee the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Monitor missed and canceled appointments, identifying scheduling patterns.
• Generate reports regarding balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and other relevant operational metrics.
• Facilitate communication between the provider, care team, and administrative personnel.
• Detect gaps in workflow, billing, documentation, scheduling, and patient accounts and propose effective solutions.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Background in supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing assistance.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong professional presence and communication style.
• Must be proficient in using Mac OS.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or accountability in previous roles.
• Proactive with the ability to foresee needs before being asked.
• Highly detail-oriented regarding billing, documentation, and reporting responsibilities.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient when interacting with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in all communications.
• Capable of taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-driven when adapting to new workflows.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
