This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Confirm patient insurance upon check-in, ensuring that all information is accurate, up-to-date, and properly documented.
• Analyze denied claims to determine reasons for denial, assist in the reprocessing of claims, and follow up on any missing information.
• Examine and manage Explanation of Benefits documents, also addressing any EOB backlogs.
• Resolve any outstanding insurance balances and issues related to patient accounts.
• Assist with claims workflows, including those from Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Manage vendor payments, including issuing checks when necessary.
• Oversee the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Monitor missed and canceled appointments while identifying trends in scheduling.
• Generate reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and various operational metrics.
• Facilitate communication among the provider, care team, and administrative personnel.
• Recognize workflow inefficiencies, billing issues, documentation delays, scheduling problems, and patient account challenges.
• Propose actionable solutions to enhance clinic efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience in supporting a U.S. healthcare practice.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and a professional communication style.
• Must be proficient in Mac OS.
• High attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or accountability in previous roles.
• Proactive in anticipating needs without prompting.
• Detail-oriented with respect to billing, documentation, and reporting responsibilities.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient when interacting with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in all communications.
• Willing to take personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-motivated in learning new workflows.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable managing sensitive information.
