This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Confirm patient insurance details post check-in, ensuring accuracy, updates, and proper documentation.
• Analyze denied claims to determine reasons for denial, assist with reprocessing, and follow up on any missing information.
• Examine and manage Explanation of Benefits documents, addressing EOB backlogs.
• Resolve outstanding insurance balances and issues related to patient accounts.
• Facilitate claims workflows for Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Oversee vendor payments, including issuing checks when necessary.
• Ensure completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Monitor trends in missed and canceled appointments, as well as overall scheduling patterns.
• Create reports detailing balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and other key operational metrics.
• Deliver clear insights and actionable recommendations within reports.
• Facilitate communication among providers, care teams, and administrative personnel.
• Identify gaps in workflows, billing issues, documentation delays, scheduling conflicts, and patient account challenges.
• Propose practical solutions aimed at enhancing clinic efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Proven experience in supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims management, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and a professional communication style.
• Must be proficient in Mac OS.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
• Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or accountability in a previous role.
• Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate needs before being asked.
• Highly detail-oriented with experience in billing, documentation, and reporting tasks.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient when collaborating with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in communications.
• Willingness to take personal responsibility for assigned duties.
• Resourceful and self-motivated when learning new workflows.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable handling confidential information.
• Prior experience in supporting a chiropractic clinic (preferred).
• Experience with Cigna or Veterans Affairs claims (preferred).
• Experience in resolving EOB or billing backlogs (preferred).
• Experience in preparing operational or billing reports (preferred).
• Experience in mentoring, training, or supporting new team members (preferred).
• Experience working closely with a clinic owner, provider, or executive-level leader (preferred).
• Performance-based salary increase after 6 months.
