This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Verify patient insurance following check-in and ensure the information is accurate and properly documented.
• Examine denied claims, determine the reasons for denial, assist with reprocessing, and follow up on any missing information.
• Analyze and process Explanation of Benefits documents while clearing EOB backlogs.
• Address outstanding insurance balances and resolve patient account issues.
• Support claims workflows, including those related to Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Manage vendor payments, including processing checks when necessary.
• Monitor the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Track missed and canceled appointments, identifying scheduling trends.
• Prepare reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and other operational metrics.
• Facilitate communication among the provider, care team, and administrative staff.
• Identify gaps in workflow, billing issues, documentation delays, scheduling problems, and patient account challenges.
• Recommend practical solutions to enhance clinic efficiency.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience in supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims processing, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and a professional communication style.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• High attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in a prior role.
• Proactive and able to foresee needs before being requested.
• Highly detail-oriented when it comes to billing, documentation, and reporting tasks.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient while collaborating with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in communication.
• Capable of taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-motivated when adapting to new workflows.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
• Availability Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day.
• Performance-based salary increase after 6 months.
• Flexible remote work arrangement.
• 30 hours of work per week.
