This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Confirm patient insurance details post check-in, ensuring information is precise, current, and well-documented.
• Analyze denied claims, determine reasons for denial, assist in claim reprocessing, and follow up on any missing details.
• Review and handle Explanation of Benefits documents while addressing EOB backlogs.
• Evaluate outstanding insurance balances and patient account concerns, coordinating resolutions effectively.
• Support claims processes, including those related to Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Aid in vendor payment coordination, including issuing check payments when necessary.
• Oversee the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Monitor missed and canceled appointments, as well as scheduling trends.
• Generate reports concerning outstanding balances, missed and canceled appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and other operational metrics.
• Facilitate communication among providers, care teams, and administrative personnel.
• Identify gaps in workflows, billing issues, documentation delays, scheduling challenges, and patient account difficulties.
• Propose practical solutions aimed at enhancing clinic efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Background in supporting a healthcare practice in the United States.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims processes, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong professional presence and effective communication style.
• Must be proficient in Mac OS.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.
• Capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or high-accountability experience in previous roles.
• Proactive with the ability to anticipate needs without being prompted.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• High emotional intelligence and patience while interacting with busy providers.
• Confident, professional, and organized in all communications.
• Willingness to take personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-driven when learning new workflows.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable managing sensitive information.
