This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Verify patient insurance following check-in and ensure accurate documentation is maintained.
• Analyze denied claims, determine reasons for denial, assist in reprocessing, and monitor follow-up actions.
• Review and manage Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents, addressing any backlogs.
• Resolve outstanding insurance balances and address patient account issues effectively.
• Assist with claims workflows for Cigna and Veterans Affairs.
• Oversee vendor payments, including processing checks when necessary.
• Monitor the completion, accuracy, and compliance of SOAP notes.
• Track missed and canceled appointments while identifying scheduling trends.
• Generate reports on balances, appointments, EOB backlogs, denied claims, and other key operational metrics.
• Provide clear insights and actionable recommendations in reports.
• Facilitate communication among the provider, care team, and administrative personnel.
• Identify challenges related to workflow, billing, documentation, scheduling, and patient accounts.
• Propose solutions aimed at enhancing clinic efficiency.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
• Experience in supporting a healthcare practice in the US.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong executive presence and a professional communication style.
• Must be proficient in Mac OS.
• Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated leadership, ownership, or accountability in previous roles.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs before being asked.
• Highly detail-oriented when managing billing, documentation, and reporting tasks.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Emotionally intelligent and patient when collaborating with a busy provider.
• Confident, professional, and organized in all forms of communication.
• Capable of taking personal responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Resourceful and self-motivated in learning new workflows.
• Trustworthy and dependable, particularly when handling sensitive information.
• Previous experience supporting a chiropractic clinic is a plus.
• Familiarity with Cigna or Veterans Affairs claims is advantageous.
• Experience in clearing EOB or billing backlogs is beneficial.
• Experience in preparing operational or billing reports is desirable.
• Background in mentoring, training, or supporting new team members is a plus.
• Experience working closely with clinic owners, providers, or executive-level leaders is a benefit.
• Performance-based salary increase after 6 months.
