This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Transcribe medical documents such as physician letters, correspondence, nurse notes, and manuscripts.
• Complete electronic medical record requisitions and orders in accordance with WashU guidelines when applicable.
• Manage the daily appointment schedules and calendars of physicians.
• Organize meetings, coordinate conference calls, arrange catering services, make travel plans, and finalize travel expense reports.
• Schedule patient appointments and procedures.
• Prepare patient charts, which includes delivering workups.
• Welcome visitors, answer phone calls, take messages, and screen patient inquiries.
• Provide routine information to patients following departmental procedures and policies.
• Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and staff.
• Support administrative and clinical staff during busy periods, holidays, and illnesses.
• Retrieve and deliver reports, films, and other materials.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or an equivalent high school certification, or a combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office setting.
• Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of the hire date.
• Basic Life Support certification must include a skills assessment component; online BLS certifications without this component are insufficient.
• Capability to perform essential functions satisfactorily.
• An associate degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in medical terminology.
• Competence in Microsoft Office and other software packages.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Up to 22 days of vacation.
