Medical Scientific Liaison – Rare Disease

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Serve as a scientific authority in the field with complete commitment to field engagement.

• Participate in high-level scientific discussions with external specialists.

• Establish and nurture scientific collaborations with external experts.

• Identify and address unmet medical needs while generating valuable insights.

• Assist in the development and execution of the medical product strategy within the brand framework.

• Collect customer insights regarding the Romanian market and clinical environments.

• Collaborate within a cross-functional brand team as a medical-scientific authority.

• Create Field Engagement Plans and integrated Account Management strategies.

• Work alongside Regulatory, Market Access, Marketing, and other departments on field-specific medical matters.

• Provide support for oncology products throughout their lifecycle.

• Contribute to local, regional, and global clinical research initiatives and externally sponsored research efforts.

• Develop real-world evidence generation projects in conjunction with the brand team.

• Offer medical-scientific insights for sales promotion and related activities and materials.

• Design and conduct medical-scientific training and education for sales teams and AstraZeneca staff.

• Plan and execute scientific gatherings, symposia, and educational programs for healthcare professionals.

• Organize and engage in regional advisory board meetings.

• Maintain expertise in the therapeutic area through ongoing education and participation in congresses.

• Assist Medical Governance in managing external medical and scientific inquiries.

• Ensure adherence to local regulations as well as AstraZeneca policies and guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in a health-related or biosciences discipline.

• Strong understanding of the execution of field medical affairs plans.

• Prior knowledge and expertise in oncology and/or hematology-oncology is highly advantageous.

• Professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector, ideally as an MSL or within Medical Affairs; clinical research experience will also be taken into account.

• In-depth knowledge of local regulatory and market access requirements pertaining to medical affairs activities.

• Extensive understanding of the legal and ethical frameworks and procedural guidelines for the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Romania.

• Ability and eagerness to work collaboratively and independently.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Proficient written and spoken English along with fluent Romanian.

• Advanced scientific knowledge with the capability to analyze and interpret clinical and scientific data.

• Experience in engaging with healthcare professionals.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical, scientific, or medical information to a wide audience.

• Valid driving license.
