Medical Science Liaison – Western USA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute field medical initiatives to support the execution of Phase 3 clinical trials and engage with sites within a designated territory.

• Cultivate and sustain scientific relationships with clinical investigators, key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, academic institutions, and various stakeholders.

• Assist in engaging investigators and study sites, encompassing trial awareness, protocol education, patient identification strategies, and OD referral initiatives.

• Act as a scientific resource for investigators and site personnel throughout the duration of the study.

• Collaborate with Clinical Operations to discern site-level requirements, aid in enrollment objectives, and tackle scientific or educational obstacles.

• Facilitate compliant scientific discussions regarding clinical data, disease state education, and clinical development programs.

• Represent SpyGlass Pharma at scientific congresses, investigator meetings, advisory boards, and clinical insight sessions.

• Aid in scientific congress activities, which include external engagement, meeting coordination, and the collection of field medical insights.

• Collect, analyze, and communicate field insights, competitive intelligence, investigator feedback, and unmet medical needs.

• Work in collaboration with Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and other internal stakeholders.

• Contribute to the development of field medical processes, tools, engagement strategies, and best practices.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of scientific and clinical knowledge in ophthalmology, glaucoma, ocular hypertension, and associated therapeutic areas.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, company policies, GCP, and industry norms.

• Travel extensively within the assigned territory and participate in investigator meetings, scientific conferences, and corporate meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, healthcare, or a related scientific or clinical field is required.

• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is preferred (PharmD, PhD, OD, MD, NP, PA, or equivalent).

• A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, clinical research, or healthcare sectors.

• Prior experience as an MSL, in field medical roles, clinical development, or clinical trial support is preferred.

• Experience in ophthalmology, glaucoma, ocular hypertension, or related therapeutic areas is preferred.

• Preference for experience in supporting late-stage clinical programs or clinical trial site engagement activities.

• Familiarity with clinical trial operations, GCP, FDA regulations, and compliant scientific exchange practices.

• Proven ability to forge effective relationships with investigators, healthcare providers, and other external stakeholders.

• Excellent scientific communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.

• Capacity to comprehend and convey complex scientific and clinical information to varied audiences.

• Strong organizational skills with the capability to independently manage multiple priorities and fulfill responsibilities across the assigned territory.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in working within cross-functional teams and matrix organizations.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 50–75% as required.
