Medical Science Liaison, Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Engage with Oncology Healthcare Decision Makers to convey and promote Amgen’s scientific platform, especially in the area of prostate cancer.

• Effectively relay intricate scientific details and research concepts to healthcare decision makers, including those affiliated with Academic Medical Centers.

• Conduct discussions on clinical and pharmacoeconomic value with payers and formulary decision makers.

• Identify and train members of Amgen’s speakers’ bureau, ensuring they are informed about the latest data.

• Provide feedback derived from field interactions and scientific support that aligns with Amgen’s objectives and goals.

• Supply clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers.

• Address investigator-sponsored research proposals.

• Support Amgen-sponsored research initiatives.

• Offer scientific assistance for commercial, corporate accounts, and matrix colleagues who manage HCP inquiries.

• Cultivate scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows in training.

• Lead and/or participate in committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.

• Mentor MSLs as specified by MSL leadership.

• Uphold the MSL value proposition, achieve results, and exemplify Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes.

• Exhibit professionalism and tact in all communications and interactions.

• Demonstrate openness and innovation through actions, words, and decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred; other doctoral degrees will be considered.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a medically related field, with at least 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.

• Postdoctoral training, such as residencies or fellowships, may be counted as medically related experience.

• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs within a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.

• Expertise in the Oncology and/or Hematology therapeutic areas is preferred.

• Willingness to travel throughout the territory, including Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana.
