This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico, +2 more states.
• Act as the main scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers.
• Implement Amgen Medical and product strategies through the dissemination of accurate, balanced, and scientifically robust information.
• Engage with provider segments in Pulmonology, Allergy, ENT, and Gastroenterology.
• Prioritize interactions based on local patient pathways, referral networks, scientific opportunities, and readiness for indication expansion.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions with communities in Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and related fields.
• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the therapeutic area pipeline.
• Communicate clinical, outcomes, and economic data to Population Health Decision Makers.
• Connect both external and internal stakeholders to enhance Amgen’s reach and improve patient access.
• Assist with Amgen-sponsored research and may take on the role of study lead.
• Liaise with potential investigators involved in non-sponsored clinical research.
• Provide field observations and insights for internal stakeholders.
• Lead and support activities at congress events.
• Facilitate speaker training and ensure speakers have the latest data updates.
• Lead or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Collaborate compliantly across Amgen field roles to create a unified One Amgen experience.
• Fulfill administrative duties and training, including Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.
• Maintain and enhance clinical and scientific knowledge with up-to-date data, information, and healthcare trends.
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. preferred (consideration for other doctoral degrees).
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Affairs is preferred.
• At least 4 years in a medically related field, with a minimum of 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research is preferred.
• Experience in a medically related field may include post-doctoral training (e.g., residencies and/or fellowships).
• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
• Expertise in Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and/or Inflammation is preferred.
• Familiarity with the designated territory is preferred.
• Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively present scientific data.
• Willingness to travel 60–70% for territory management, provider engagement, conferences, workshops, and company meetings.
• Must timely complete administrative responsibilities and training (e.g., Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, compliance modules).
