This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Act as a key scientific and clinical resource for Opinion Leaders, community healthcare providers, and Population Health Decision Makers.
• Implement Amgen Medical and product strategy under the guidance of MSL and Medical Leadership.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer scientific discussions with providers in Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Allergy, and ENT fields.
• Prioritize engagement efforts based on local patient pathways, referral networks, scientific opportunities, and readiness for indication expansion.
• Travel 60–70% or more for territory management, provider engagement, conferences, workshops, and company meetings.
• Collaborate with clinical investigators and sites to support the therapeutic-area pipeline.
• Communicate clinical, outcomes, economic, and other scientific information to Population Health Decision Makers.
• Connect both external and internal stakeholders to enhance Amgen’s reach and patient access.
• Conduct focused, balanced, and compliant scientific exchanges.
• Support Amgen-sponsored research and potentially take on the role of study lead.
• Liaise with potential investigators in non-sponsored clinical research.
• Provide field observations and insights to internal stakeholders.
• Lead and support activities at congresses.
• Assist in speaker training and ensure speakers are informed of new data.
• Lead or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics.
• Coordinate compliantly with other Amgen field roles that share customers.
• Complete administrative tasks and training, including Veeva/ALIGN CRM, expense reports, and compliance modules.
• Maintain and enhance clinical and scientific expertise in line with current data and healthcare trends.
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 3 years of Medical Affairs experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. preferred; other doctoral degrees will be considered.
• At least 1 year of Medical Affairs experience preferred.
• 4 or more years in a medically related field, including a minimum of 1 year focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research preferred.
• Post-doctoral training, residencies, or fellowships may be counted as medically related experience.
• Current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company preferred.
• Expertise in Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and/or Inflammation preferred.
• Familiarity with the designated territory preferred.
• Ability to travel 60–70% or more for territory management, provider engagement, conferences, workshops, and company meetings.
• Strong relationship-building and communication abilities.
• Capability to convey scientific data accurately, objectively, and compliantly.
