This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +4 more states.
• Provide a clinical and scientific viewpoint to the local execution strategy, addressing customer challenges, concerns, and opportunities.
• Oversee the coordination of field activities.
• Foster, nurture, and utilize relationships with key scientific and medical clients and organizations within the region.
• Engage prominent influencers, local practice leaders, key decision-makers, healthcare providers, and patient advocacy groups.
• Cultivate and sustain a thorough understanding of the ecosystem and align initiatives with Otsuka’s patient-centric approach.
• Deliver evidence-based clinical, economic, and humanistic insights regarding Otsuka and its offerings.
• Collaborate with providers and stakeholders to implement practical real-world solutions aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.
• Establish internal working relationships across the matrix team.
• Develop and implement local medical strategies within designated timelines.
• Share disease-state and healthcare landscape information with customers.
• Offer clinical and data-oriented training for promotional and disease-state speakers.
• Support Otsuka’s speaker bureau activities.
• Gather and submit medical insights to guide decision-making and evidence-generation priorities.
• Assist in clinical trials, post-marketing research, investigator-sponsored studies, health economic outcomes research, and medical partnerships.
• Provide clinical expertise and feedback on the management of clinical trial operations, site selection, and performance metrics.
• Mentor colleagues and new employees.
• Assist with Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence.
• MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences, or a Master's degree with equivalent psychiatric or CNS clinical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical medical affairs or related fields.
• Knowledge of the interconnectedness of health systems and the overall delivery of patient care.
• Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals and other key decision-makers.
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with the industry, Otsuka's business model and value proposition, major competitors, and market dynamics.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
• Strong skills in conflict resolution.
• Capability to lead others and project teams strategically.
• Proficiency in summarizing and conveying complex information and business objectives in a clear and effective manner.
• Solid understanding of the industry's legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ambiguous environment undergoing transformation.
• Willingness to travel for business by air or car, up to 70% of the time.
• Preferred residence is a major city within the territory.
