This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Efficiently register patients and input demographic and insurance details into the designated system.
• Examine patient registration data for thoroughness and precision.
• Enter and manage pertinent documentation within the EMR/EHR system.
• Upload necessary documents and supporting records into patient files.
• Process and arrange provider referrals systematically.
• Assist with documentation related to insurance authorizations.
• Reference clinical notes and reports via the EHR/EMR as needed.
• Ensure patient charts include all required registration and insurance documentation.
• Maintain precise, organized, and confidential electronic patient records.
• Address patient-related inquiries and correspondence within the role's scope.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits directly with insurance providers.
• Navigate insurance portals to acquire and confirm coverage details.
• Make outbound calls to insurance companies when portal information is lacking or clarification is needed.
• Confirm eligibility, active coverage, benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and authorization prerequisites.
• Accurately document results of insurance verifications.
• Identify and rectify any missing, conflicting, or incomplete insurance information.
• Communicate with insurance representatives regarding coverage and authorization needs.
• Maintain records of insurance calls, portal discoveries, reference numbers, and follow-up actions.
• Review and process incoming provider referrals.
• Ensure that required referral and insurance information is thoroughly complete.
• Assist with insurance authorization requirements linked to patient registration.
• Coordinate necessary documentation for insurance processing.
• Monitor pending insurance or referral requirements.
• Follow up with insurance carriers to obtain essential information.
• Ensure that registration and insurance prerequisites are completed accurately and promptly.
• Prior experience in medical registration, insurance verification, eligibility and benefits confirmation, or a similar administrative role in U.S. healthcare.
• Practical experience in verifying insurance eligibility and benefits directly with U.S. insurance companies.
• Familiarity with navigating insurance portals to retrieve patient coverage information.
• Experience in making outbound calls to insurance providers.
• Strong comprehension of U.S. health insurance terminology and procedures.
• Knowledge of benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, eligibility, and authorization prerequisites.
• Understanding of Workers’ Compensation and Medical Provider Networks (MPN).
• Acquainted with provider referrals and insurance authorization workflows.
• Experience in accurately entering patient demographics and insurance details.
• Proficient in uploading and managing documents within patient records.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems like Athena, Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms.
• Ability to review and reference clinical notes and reports as required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
• Outstanding professional phone and written communication skills.
• Capability to independently identify and resolve missing or conflicting information.
• Ability to handle confidential patient and insurance information appropriately.
• Strong understanding of and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Must communicate in English clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Relevant work experience is essential.
• Must provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance prior to onboarding (mandatory).
• Availability to participate in video meetings with camera on when necessary.
