This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accurately, efficiently, and promptly process requests for the release of information.
• Retrieve and return patients' medical records.
• Scan medical documents precisely and transmit them on a daily basis.
• Date stamp requests and highlight relevant information.
• Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical data.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and proper invoicing.
• Keep equipment in optimal working condition.
• Deliver attentive and respectful customer service while addressing client inquiries.
• Receive incoming requests via mail, phone, and fax as necessary.
• Maintain a professional appearance and ensure a tidy, organized workspace.
• Stay informed about state laws and fee structures.
• Assist with additional facilities and manage backlogs as assigned.
• Adhere to client/site policies, as well as HIPAA, state/federal, and labor regulations.
• Protect confidentiality, security, and ethical standards when managing medical records.
• Required: High School Diploma (GED).
• Preferred: At least 2 years of previous experience in a medical records department or similar environment.
• Strong proficiency in computer software.
• Required: General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Exceptional organizational abilities.
• Capable of typing at a speed of 50 words per minute.
• Proficient in using fax machines, copiers, and scanners.
• Eager to learn new equipment and processes rapidly.
• Self-driven and a collaborative team member.
• Demonstrated skills in customer satisfaction.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must ensure patient privacy and comply with HIPAA, as well as state/federal and company regulations.
