This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive healthcare quality assurance and performance enhancement programs across the enterprise.
• Ensure adherence to NDS, PBNDS, healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and contractual obligations.
• Perform regular audits, assessments, chart reviews, site evaluations, and compliance monitoring throughout healthcare programs.
• Evaluate healthcare performance metrics, clinical outcomes, incident reports, grievances, mortality reviews, and quality indicators.
• Formulate and oversee corrective action plans that arise from audits, inspections, quality reviews, accreditation evaluations, and government findings.
• Coordinate quality enhancement initiatives that emphasize patient safety, compliance, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.
• Supervise facility compliance with healthcare documentation standards, clinical protocols, utilization management activities, and care standards.
• Assess healthcare records, reports, and quality data for precision, thoroughness, and compliance.
• Assist during government inspections, accreditation assessments, audits, and contract compliance evaluations.
• Lead the medical department's preparations and continuous readiness for ACA accreditation and reaccreditation across various detention healthcare locations.
• Collaborate with Health Services Administrators to assess ACA healthcare-standard compliance, rectify deficiencies, maintain documentation, and ensure accreditation readiness.
• Work with facility and corporate leadership as well as government stakeholders to tackle quality issues, risks, and performance shortcomings.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on quality, compliance, patient safety, and operational performance metrics.
• Create policies, procedures, quality monitoring instruments, audit tools, and performance standards.
• Engage in root cause analyses, risk evaluations, healthcare investigations, and performance enhancement initiatives.
• Offer guidance and education on quality improvement practices, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Assist with new healthcare initiatives, operational enhancements, and program standardization efforts.
• Prepare executive reports, dashboards, compliance summaries, and quality performance evaluations.
• Uphold the confidentiality of patient information, quality review activities, and investigative results.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Information Management, Quality Management, or a related healthcare discipline.
• At least five (5) years of experience in healthcare quality management, accreditation, compliance, performance improvement, healthcare auditing, or healthcare operations.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in correctional healthcare, detention healthcare, hospital operations, government healthcare programs, or similar healthcare settings.
• Proven experience conducting audits, chart evaluations, compliance assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Background in analyzing healthcare data and formulating performance improvement recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare reporting systems.
• Capability to obtain and maintain all necessary government clearances, facility credentials, and contractual requirements.
• Ability to provide proof of citizenship or legal U.S. work authorization.
• Must consent to fingerprinting and background checks.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Strong understanding of healthcare quality assurance, performance improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance principles.
• Familiarity with detention healthcare operations, correctional healthcare practices, and federal healthcare programs.
• Comprehensive understanding of National Detention Standards (NDS), Performance-Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS), and healthcare accreditation standards.
• Knowledge of quality management methodologies, auditing techniques, risk management processes, and corrective action planning.
• Ability to evaluate healthcare operations, identify deficiencies, and propose performance improvement strategies.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to collect, interpret, analyze, and present healthcare quality and performance data.
• Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong organizational, project management, and documentation abilities.
• Capacity to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities concurrently.
• Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or similar professional certification is preferred.
• Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH), Nursing, Quality Management, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in supporting government agencies through federal healthcare programs is preferred.
• Familiarity with ACA, NCCHC, Joint Commission, or other healthcare accreditation standards is preferred.
• Experience with quality dashboards, healthcare analytics, utilization management, and enterprise quality programs is preferred.
• Experience managing multi-site healthcare quality programs is preferred.
• Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
• Capability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Full-time, salaried/exempt position.
