Medical Director – Senior Medical Director, Psychiatry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee medical aspects of psychiatric clinical trials.

• Ensure adherence to company SOPs, client directives, good clinical practices, and regulatory standards.

• Manage and supervise contracted services throughout the development of clinical trials.

• Participate in and present at investigator and sponsor meetings.

• Offer medical consultation to clients, investigators, and project team members.

• Assist in business development initiatives.

• Conduct medical reviews and analyses for serious adverse events in clinical trials.

• Ensure that tasks assigned to medical monitors are executed effectively.

• Provide training on medical, therapeutic, and protocol matters.

• Monitor safety metrics including adverse events, laboratory irregularities, patient medical status, concomitant medications, and un-blinding requests.

• Address medical inquiries with principal investigators and clients, applying medical judgment to various clinical situations.

• Review adverse events of special interest, serious adverse events, and clinical outcome events.

• Analyze coding listings and/or comprehensive safety data to identify potential safety issues.

• Mentor and train other staff members.

⛳️ Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree is required.

• Clinical experience in Psychiatry along with formal training (residency and/or fellowship) is necessary.

• Patient treatment experience equivalent to 2 years is required.

• For the Senior Medical Director position: relevant clinical trial experience in a Contract Research Organization or pharmaceutical company of 1–2 years is essential.

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in clinical development or medical monitoring.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the hiring country without the need for sponsorship.

• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening where applicable.

• Therapeutic expertise in Psychiatry is required.

• Familiarity with relevant safety databases, such as MedDRA, is necessary.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.

• Understanding of FDA, ICH, EMA, and GCP guidelines is required.

• Knowledge of biostatistics, data management, and clinical operations procedures is needed.

• Proficiency in basic computer applications is necessary.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.

• Active medical licensure is preferred but not mandatory.
