Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Accurately apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes in accordance with documentation and services provided.

• Ensure correct code sequencing, modifiers, and compliance with payer and regulatory standards.

• Review and rectify coding-related errors, denials, or rejected claims.

• Complete the necessary documentation or system entries related to claims.

• Extract additional data elements during the Chart Review process.

• Examine patient medical records and clinical documentation.

• Identify any incomplete or missing documentation and coordinate with providers for queries.

• Stay informed about coding regulations, payer policies, and healthcare compliance requirements.

• Facilitate accurate claim submissions and billing precision.

• Collaborate with Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Authorization teams.

• Uphold productivity and accuracy benchmarks.

• Assist in audit and compliance initiatives.

• Engage in internal and client quality audits/reviews.

• Train, coach, and mentor billers to ensure precise coding and billing practices.

• Keep abreast of medical coding, billing guidelines, and auditing standards.

• Adhere to team and/or client protocols, policies, and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to handle and maintain confidential information.

• Graduate of medical allied courses; Nurses, Physical Therapists, Medical Technologists (preferred but not mandatory).

• 1–3 years of experience in Medical Coding.

• Ideally has exposure to Gastroenterology or Same Day Surgery.

• Active coding certification (e.g., CPC).

• Adaptability in managing various specialties and client assignments.

• Familiarity with ICD-9 or ICD-10 Coding.

• Team-oriented with the ability and readiness to assist, coach, and train billers on coding-specific requirements.

• Capable of providing and sharing coding knowledge with team members as necessary.

• Proficient in data entry skills (minimum 50–60 accurate keystrokes per minute).

• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and time management capabilities.

• Ability to work remotely with reliable internet and backup connectivity.
