This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and evaluate documentation found in medical records.

• Assign diagnosis and procedure codes based on the documentation provided by physicians.

• Code services for inpatient, outpatient, and/or professional settings.

• Comply with the Standards of Ethical Coding set by the American Health Information Management Association.

• Follow official coding guidelines diligently.

• Execute data entry tasks utilizing both keyboard and mouse.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is required.

• Previous coding experience in ICD-10-CM diagnoses/procedure coding and HCPCS/CPT procedure coding in acute care inpatient, outpatient hospital, or professional services environments.

• Proficient understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding classification systems applicable to acute care/hospital settings or professional services.

• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

• Frequent repetitive motion is expected, comprising approximately 25% keyboard use and 75% mouse use for data entry.

• Preferred: An A.S. degree from an accredited Health Information Technology program or a B.S. degree from an accredited Health Information Management program.

• Preferred: Familiarity with the 3M encoder and the Epic system.
