Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Engage daily via phone with patients/customers to address inquiries or process payments

• Accurately code patient visits on a daily basis

• Support team members with questions regarding billing and insurance

• Manage weekly billing of patient visits following an employee rotation system

• Communicate daily by phone with insurance companies to resolve payment discrepancies

• Submit electronic insurance claims and appeals

• Address claim denials promptly

• Work full-time, 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday as part of the Billing team

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside in Kentucky or Indiana within a 2-hour drive from Shepherdsville, Kentucky

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both by phone and in person

• Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers’ Compensation insurance billing regulations

• Understanding of Electronic Medical Records

• Prior experience with claims, payment posting, denials, appeals, and coding

• Ability to work full days without interruptions

• High school diploma or equivalent is required

• Minimum of two years of coding experience is necessary

• Requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer

• Frequent use of hands for typing is essential

• At least 50% of the workday involves speaking on the phone
