Media Relations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of media relations from start to finish across tier 1, security trades, and unconventional media.

• Develop strategies for product launches, news announcements, and coverage of threat intelligence.

• Establish and nurture prioritized relationships with reporters specializing in AI and cybersecurity.

• Manage daily pitching, background briefings, trend pitches, and story placement.

• Position executives as key sources on behavioral AI security topics.

• Keep track of the media landscape and news cycles to pinpoint opportunities for reactive commentary.

• Create Q&As and bylines for tier 1 media outlets.

• Act as a secondary writer/editor for press releases and executive communication.

• Prepare executives for interviews and help shape media narratives.

• Craft bylines and statements reflecting the executives' voices.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Threat Intelligence Marketing, and Customer Marketing to identify storytelling opportunities.

• Work with Communications leadership and cross-functional teams as an individual contributor.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in media relations or public relations.

• Proven relationships with tier 1 technology or business publications.

• History of proactive, relationship-focused media engagement.

• Strong judgment regarding newsworthiness and public statements, particularly under time constraints.

• Exceptional writing skills; adept at drafting or editing press releases, Q&As, and bylines.

• Comfortable interacting directly with senior executives and writing in their voice.

• Ability to develop strategy and work independently, demonstrating strong ownership and execution.

• Collaborative attitude with the capability to guide other team members.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity, AI, or enterprise SaaS.

• Experience with podcasts, newsletters, or other non-traditional and creator-driven media.

• Experience in managing or directing an external public relations agency.

• Background in supporting executive communications or C-suite media training.

• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
