This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Analyze journalistic and editorial work products for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and professional quality.
• Evaluate factual support, sourcing logic, tone, editorial judgment, and adherence to professional standards.
• Review reports related to media, content plans, briefs, and analytical materials.
• Assess audience suitability, channel alignment, narrative structure, messaging priorities, and information hierarchy.
• Evaluate communication strategies, messaging frameworks, stakeholder materials, objectives, positioning, and channel considerations.
• Examine factual accuracy, internal consistency, evidence, source utilization, context, and the distinction between fact, interpretation, and opinion.
• Review audience relevance, accessibility, clarity, tone, framing, terminology, level of detail, and consistency across various stakeholder groups.
• Review reports, communication plans, spreadsheets, and slide presentations for accuracy, completeness, narrative flow, message clarity, and audience impact.
• Assess charts, tables, and visual elements for their accurate representation of underlying information.
• Evaluate assigned outputs against domain-specific quality criteria.
• Identify weaknesses in factual, editorial, strategic, analytical, aesthetic, and presentation aspects.
• Provide clear, structured written feedback detailing the identified strengths and weaknesses.
• Consistently apply evaluation standards across various media and communications work products.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in journalism, communications, media, editorial, content strategy, public relations, or a closely related field.
• Strong editorial judgment and capability to assess factual accuracy and information quality.
• Experience in producing or reviewing professional communications, editorial content, reports, or media materials.
• A solid understanding of audience dynamics, messaging, narrative structure, and communication strategy.
• Ability to identify unsupported claims, weak reasoning, and ineffective communication methods.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint / Google Slides.
• Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills.
• Native or professional fluency in English.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to provide precise, structured feedback.
• Strong attention to detail in factual, editorial, analytical, and presentation aspects.
• A Master's degree or higher from a recognized institution is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Work must be conducted without utilizing confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party.

• Part-time independent contractor position.
• Fully remote work environment.
• Flexible scheduling based on project requirements.
• Compensation ranging from $70–$110/hour.
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance.
