This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon, +1 more state.
• Offer technical guidance and assistance to sales teams, distribution partners, and clients concerning applications and production processes.
• Develop technical content for marketing initiatives, including application and video tutorials.
• Interact with external control groups to remain informed about market trends.
• Build relationships with controls engineers within customer organizations.
• Communicate with MAEs and Technical Support colleagues across North America.
• Deliver onsite customer support for prototype initiations and proof-of-concept projects.
• Configure networks, integrate devices, and conduct product sizing and selection.
• Create a repository of software applications and libraries to enhance commissioning efficiency.
• Collect customer feedback and communicate it to Product Management.
• Collaborate with Technical Support to address technical support inquiries.
• Assess the technical and commercial viability of proposals.
• Discuss controls and electromechanical proposals to enhance machine performance and boost component sales.
• Contribute to the development of automated machinery concepts, specifications, and designs.
• Offer support regarding industry norms and regulations.
• Identify and secure projects based on expertise in applications, automation, and sectors.
• Share knowledge with Business Drivers to foster solution adoption.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to MAE and Business Development teams.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison among customers, Sales Engineering, and Festo technical departments during the pre-sales phase.
• Collaborate closely with Technical Support to resolve customer technical issues.
• Work additional hours as needed to complete essential tasks.
• Travel for training, customer engagements, company events, or visits to headquarters and regional offices.
• Proficiency in English is required; Spanish is an advantage.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret moderately complex documents.
• Capable of responding effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
• Skilled in delivering effective presentations and addressing technical or complex subjects to clients.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with IEC61131-3 programming languages.
• Knowledge of CODESYS, Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT 3, and/or Omron Sysmac Studio.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, and LabVIEW is a plus.
• Knowledge of EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP, and IO-Link.
• Understanding of motion control principles, PLCs, and distributed I/O systems.
• Ability to size and design servo motor applications.
• Familiarity with pneumatics and pneumatic control logic.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of CAD systems.
• Bachelor's Degree (BS in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering); an MBA is preferred.
• Minimum of 5–10+ years of experience in project management, controls engineering, sales, and technical support within the industrial automation sector.
• Experience with Festo is an advantage.
• Background in Mechatronics, electromechanical, or robotics engineering.
• Comprehensive understanding of industrial automation.
• Experience in sales and customer relationship management.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• Travel may be required for business purposes, including skill development, training, customer visits, or company events.
