Electrification Services Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical support to the Regional Commercial team in the creation of field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization, and automation systems and equipment.

• Identify and suggest value-added service solutions for industrial, utility, and commercial clients.

• Assist in proposals related to Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions.

• Discover and cultivate new business prospects while introducing new products and services.

• Contribute to regional objectives regarding sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality standards.

• Develop and present technical solutions that align with customer requirements.

• Influence project specifications and prepare proposal content that emphasizes scope, benefits, and compliance.

• Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals.

• Conduct site evaluations and assess material and labor needs.

• Execute competitive analysis.

• Support engineering work scopes, timelines, and cost assessments.

• Relay fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations teams.

• Document competitor activities effectively.

• Assist NPI programs to sustain a robust market position.

• Support the North Region Mid-Atlantic district commercial team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred in Engineering or Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution, with 6 years of experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience.

• Preferred experience in the application of Power Distribution upgrades, Relay upgrades, and Arc Flash Mitigation Solutions.

• Preferred background in application engineering or field engineering related to power delivery products and systems.

• Experience working with clients in sectors such as Oil & Gas, metals, mining, paper, Power Generation, data centers, commercial buildings, or similar industries is preferred.

• Preferred experience in reviewing customer specifications, developing proposals, and managing contract negotiations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in delivering compelling presentations and interacting with all levels within an organization.

• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership abilities with a customer-centric approach.

• Skilled in collaborative environments to develop complex, integrated solutions.

• Innovative problem solver with a creative approach to challenges.

• Capable of crafting and writing technical specifications and proposals utilizing the complete ABB portfolio.

• Candidates must possess work authorization allowing them to work for ABB in the US.
