This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Ensure that mechanical systems meet customer expectations.
• Respond to mechanical machine issues in the field promptly, ensuring clear communication with customers regarding plans and potential costs when immediate fixes are not feasible.
• Conduct field service tasks at customer locations, including mechanical installation, commissioning, testing, integration, optimization, maintenance, and repair, guaranteeing full functionality according to machine specifications.
• Install, inspect, and service mechanical components such as sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, bearings, gearboxes, motors, rollers, frames, and guarding.
• Analyze, assess, and diagnose mechanical equipment, troubleshooting machine issues until resolution.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, including pre-season and post-season servicing of machines, and work to enhance the ongoing performance of the machines.
• Foster a close relationship with sales leadership by providing updates to customers and advising on potential sales opportunities or customer concerns for follow-up actions.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with the customer care centre (CCC) team and provide regular updates.
• Address or escalate customer complaints; ensure that these are investigated or resolved as promptly, clearly, and professionally as possible.
• Promote a “Safety first” culture throughout the company, among our customers, and within our industry.
• A preferred industrial trade qualification in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, electronic, automation, or industrial manufacturing, or an equivalent degree/diploma.
• Over 3 years of experience as a field service engineer or equivalent educational background.
• Relevant experience in troubleshooting mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding and knowledge of mechanical assembly and electrical wiring.
• Knowledge and understanding of PLC.
• Experience in PC building, repair, and diagnostic testing.
• Proficient in PC and MS Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Capability to solve practical problems.
• Experience with packaging and/or printing machinery is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A positive attitude combined with a strong customer service mindset.
• Experience engaging with customers in a service delivery environment.
