This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
β’ Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and concerns.
β’ Build and sustain robust relationships with clients.
β’ Oversee coordination across various disciplines, ensuring mechanical engineering delivery adheres to budget and timelines.
β’ Lead the mechanical team, which includes HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing specialists.
β’ Create comprehensive specifications for pumps, fans, air handling units, and assorted mechanical equipment.
β’ Produce internal and external reports based on analyses and findings.
β’ Confirm that discipline plans align with project scope and scheduling requirements.
β’ Keep up-to-date with codes and technologies relevant to mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems in hyperscale data centers.
β’ Evaluate mechanical system performance while proposing enhancements and upgrades.
β’ Offer technical support throughout the construction phase, addressing RFIs and resolving emerging issues.
β’ Participate in job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as necessary.
β’ Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
β’ Assess and suggest technologies and equipment that enhance performance and lower operational costs.
β’ Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to seamlessly integrate chiller systems with data center infrastructure.
β’ Review energy consumption and pinpoint optimization and cost-reduction opportunities.
β’ Partner with global AECOM teams on prestigious data center projects.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering along with ten (10) years of pertinent experience in mechanical design and/or engineering with a focus on data center infrastructure, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
β’ A Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is mandatory.
β’ Significant experience in mechanical engineering pertaining to data centers or other critical facilities.
β’ In-depth knowledge of HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems design and construction.
β’ Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal capabilities.
β’ Proven ability to establish and nurture strong client relationships.
β’ Creative thinking skills to recognize opportunities that enhance client experiences.
β’ Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software.
β’ Familiarity with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards.
β’ Eligibility to work in the United States.
β’ Current H1-B visa holders may qualify for permanent residency sponsorship.
