This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Create mechanical designs starting from concept sketches to detailed 3D models, drawings, and production release.
• Implement industrial design principles such as ergonomics, human factors, serviceability, proportions, and product aesthetics.
• Construct and uphold parametric 3D CAD models and extensive assemblies within a cloud-based CAD environment.
• Generate manufacturing-ready detail drawings including GD&T, tolerances, bills of material, and engineering change documentation.
• Utilize design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles to minimize part count, costs, and assembly time.
• Design enclosures, brackets, mounts, guards, covers, and operator-facing hardware using sheet metal, machined, molded, and fabricated materials.
• Ensure CAD data integrity, part numbering, revision control, and maintenance of design libraries.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams in the United States.
• Assist in the development of automated mobile heavy equipment that eliminates the need for humans in dull, dirty, and hazardous jobs.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 4 years of mechanical design experience, ideally in industrial equipment or heavy machinery.
• Strong industrial design capabilities with a background in concept development, product aesthetics, ergonomics, and hardware design.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks; experience with Creo or NX is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5 or ISO).
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, casting, extrusion, and injection molding processes.
• Familiarity with material selection, surface treatments, coatings, and corrosion resistance.
• Understanding of fasteners, joining techniques, and standard mechanical components.
• Basic knowledge of structural and thermal analysis is a plus.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-driven and able to manage tasks independently with minimal oversight.
