Compliance and Facility Ratings Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and verify FAC-008 Facility Ratings reports for transmission, substation, solar, wind, battery energy storage, and other Bulk Electric System facilities.

• Acquire a thorough understanding of Facility Ratings methodologies and relevant compliance standards.

• Examine engineering reports, technical documentation, and supporting calculations to ensure alignment with established methodologies.

• Monitor report progress, milestones, and performance metrics utilizing Excel, Access, Word, and OneNote.

• Work in conjunction with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Engineers of Record, consultants, and Power Generation staff to ensure timely completion of reports.

• Assist in weekly Facility Ratings status meetings and present updates on review progress, outstanding tasks, and schedule risks.

• Detect data gaps, inconsistencies, or technical issues and facilitate their resolution.

• Aid compliance-driven programs and assigned projects.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of tracking tools and reporting metrics related to Facility Ratings compliance.

• Report directly to the Compliance and Facilities manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.

• Over 3 years of experience in substation design, engineering, or the operation of high-voltage transmission and substation facilities.

• Familiarity with NERC reliability standards, FAC-008 requirements, or utility compliance programs.

• Experience in reviewing engineering studies, calculations, or technical reports.

• Knowledge of utility-scale renewable generation facilities, battery energy storage systems, transmission systems, or substations.

• No C2C employees or sponsorship will be provided.

• Candidates must satisfy applicable United States export control requirements.
