This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Maintain software for production automotive ECUs.
• Manage component modifications, including obsolete parts, memory swaps, and alternative sources, that impact ECU software or manufacturing tests.
• Provide support for production at the contract manufacturer.
• Implement test updates, troubleshoot production line issues, and analyze yield data.
• Inherit existing codebases and execute component-related modifications.
• Verify software and manufacturing-test alterations.
• Document processes to enable independent operation.
• Create SOPs and runbooks.
• Over 5 years of experience in automotive embedded software.
• Proven experience supporting production at a contract manufacturer, including the deployment of test updates, debugging line failures, and analyzing yield data.
• Capability to assess whether a component change necessitates a software modification and carry it through validation.
• Familiarity with automotive change control processes, including PPAP, DV/PV, and deviations.
• Proficient in hands-on bench debugging with standard laboratory tools.
• Ability to work autonomously and develop SOPs/runbooks.
• Experience with microcontroller firmware, whether bare-metal or RTOS.
• Knowledge of Flash, EEPROM, and memory drivers; bootloaders; and JTAG debugging.
• Understanding of EOL test sequences, test limits, and flashing stations, such as NI TestStand.
• Expertise in automotive diagnostics and flashing, including UDS, CAN, and automotive Ethernet.
• Experience with field-return/RMA failure analysis is a plus.
