This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Create realistic technical challenges inspired by engineering tasks and professional situations.
• Generate prompts, specifications, constraints, and anticipated outputs.
• Design and assess tasks related to materials selection, properties, processing, performance, and characterisation.
• Formulate mechanical engineering challenges that encompass mechanical design, CFD, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, pressure vessels, NDE, and CAE.
• Construct electrical engineering problems that include analog electronics, RF systems, and power engineering.
• Establish structured data repositories containing essential technical information, specifications, calculations, references, and engineering evidence.
• Ensure consistency across prompts, technical data, and expected results.
• Create objective grading criteria for robust, incomplete, and incorrect solutions.
• Execute tasks using advanced AI models and evaluate their performance.
• Detect weaknesses in technical reasoning, unintended shortcuts, erroneous assumptions, calculations, interpretations, and design choices.
• Enhance tasks, evidence, specifications, and grading criteria to elevate difficulty and discriminatory value.
• Assess proposed engineering solutions for precision, thoroughness, and reasoning quality.
• Work collaboratively with project leads and other engineering specialists.
• Advanced professional expertise in materials science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Relevant experience in materials science may involve metals, ceramics, composites, materials characterisation, or additive manufacturing.
• Applicable electrical engineering experience could include analog, RF, or power systems.
• Relevant mechanical engineering experience might cover mechanical design, CFD, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, pressure vessels, NDE, or CAE.
• Proven ability to convert real-world professional experiences into technically rigorous engineering problems.
• Comfortable navigating technically ambiguous or evolving project requirements.
• Capable of clearly articulating the rationale behind the correctness or incorrectness of an engineering solution.
• Strong analytical reasoning and technical writing abilities.
• Comfortable collaborating with project leads and other engineering domain specialists.
• Work must be accomplished without utilizing confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or third party.
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this engagement.
• Part-time independent contractor opportunity.
