This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +3 more states.
• Drive the adoption, penetration, and market growth of BD’s Surgiphor portfolio within assigned strategic accounts and geographical areas.
• Collaborate with National Accounts, Direct/Indirect Sales, Marketing, Professional Education, and Medical Affairs to foster growth.
• Act as the product-line champion, offering clinical and commercial expertise to surgeons, supply chain leaders, and other key stakeholders.
• Work in partnership with 1099 distribution associates, National Accounts, internal Sales teams, PAMs, and MSLs.
• Maintain the SFDC funnel and oversee forecasting, including funnel roll-up from 1099 partners.
• Provide training for 1099 representatives.
• Broaden accounts beyond Orthopedic or 1099-driven business lines.
• Sustain existing accounts that are not covered by 1099 representatives.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the BD Surgiphor portfolio.
• Promote surgeon education alongside 1099 partners and MSLs.
• Manage enterprise/top-down responsibilities associated with the Surgiphor portfolio.
• Achieve sales objectives and enhance BD Surgiphor's presence in the designated region.
• Educate key stakeholders regarding products and solutions.
• Develop new customer relationships and maintain existing ones.
• Establish and nurture relationships with Surgiphor KOLs in collaboration with the Medical Science Liaison team.
• Assist in National and Regional Symposiums through sales, market research, and KOL relationship development.
• Conduct product demonstrations, in-servicing, and training sessions for clinical staff.
• Identify new business opportunities and execute strategic plans to increase market share.
• Attend on-label surgical procedures to provide technical support and ensure correct product usage.
• Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and medical affairs teams.
• Offer timely feedback regarding customer needs and Surgical Wound Irrigation market challenges.
• Provide performance feedback and document sales metrics in Salesforce.com.
• Monitor territory progress to achieve and surpass annual sales goals.
• Manage personal budget effectively.
• Adhere to BD quality policies and procedures.
• Report customer complaints following BD protocols.
• Conduct business in alignment with BD’s Code of Ethics, BD Way, and relevant policies.
• Comply with daily, weekly, and monthly Commercial Excellence management processes.
• Undertake special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field is required.
• At least 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the medical device/medtech sector.
• Ideally, 3+ years of documented sales experience with Surgical Wound Irrigation products.
• Ability to work respectfully in an Operating Room, tolerate observing surgeries, and potentially stand for extended periods.
• Previous experience with 1099 and/or IDN level contracting is preferred.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Familiarity with Wound Irrigation/Infection Prevention markets is a plus.
• Strong persuasion and influencing capabilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Self-motivated, willing to take on additional responsibilities, and able to manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Possess good judgment and maintain professional behavior.
• Ability to effectively build and sustain professional relationships with hospitals, sales personnel, and home office staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must possess and maintain a satisfactory criminal background as per BD standards.
• Must meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings with satisfactory results.
• Maintain vendor credentialing.
• Must hold and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety standards.
• Willingness to travel within the defined geographic area up to 75% of the time, including multiple overnight stays.
