This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee a designated territory and engage actively within the region.
• Act as a representative for West Fraser wood products in new home, multi-family, and commercial construction sectors.
• Provide expertise as a technical resource and product specialist.
• Cultivate relationships with key clientele.
• Create a marketing strategy tailored for the assigned territory.
• Establish, manage, and uphold customer relationships through exceptional service and timely follow-up.
• Understand and support clients’ business operations.
• Design and execute regional marketing initiatives in collaboration with pro-dealers, retail accounts, and builders.
• Advocate for both new and existing products to contractor yards and builders.
• Function as a subject matter expert on products and programs.
• Enhance long-term partnerships with pro-dealers, retail accounts, builders, and industrial clients.
• Collaborate with inside sales, sales management, and marketing teams to meet revenue goals.
• Foster mentoring skills within the outside marketing team and support staff.
• Participate in organizational planning discussions as well as sales and marketing initiatives.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a marketing/sales role within the wood products sector.
• Five (5) to ten (10)+ years of experience in a position related to the home construction or building industry.
• Familiarity with construction and building materials.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Capability to professionally analyze and report on product usage, trends, and competitive challenges within specific geographies.
• Experience and knowledge at the builder level.
• Understanding of building codes and their applications.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
• Strong technical proficiency and interpersonal skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Accreditation in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science.
• Familiarity with structural wood products.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned territory; less than 60% of time spent in the field traveling.
