Maritime/Field Security Liaison Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and the company in Lagos for the field security plan.

• Organize operational needs to maintain a safe and effective working environment along with a robust security plan.

• Oversee security vessel field patrols and implement effective surveillance to protect against unauthorized intrusions into the client's field.

• Safeguard clients' offshore assets, which include cargo ships, tankers involved in ship-to-ship operations, and FPSOs, utilizing patrol boats.

• Assist clients in executing field security plans by monitoring the Maritime Exclusion Zone (MEZ) and deterring encroachments.

• Manage security patrol boat operations, field security strategies, and vessel escorts.

• Coordinate offshore service needs and shore movements for the servicing and maintenance of security vessels.

• Monitor radar, AIS, and radio communications offshore, issuing warnings to vessels that encroach on the client's MEZ.

• Conduct safety, communication, and security equipment checks on board patrol boats.

• Ensure Situation Reports (SITREPs) are dispatched to the Lagos TOC in compliance with SOPs.

• Request patrol boat refueling and address welfare concerns related to offshore crew.

• Prepare and forward end-of-rotation reports to the Operations Supervisor for review by the Operations Manager.

• Aid in organizing QHSE and other drills conducted on board.

• Inspect galley supplies from vendors for quality prior to loading onto patrol boats.

• Act as the client's management representative offshore and participate in maritime security discussions with the client.

• Report maritime security incidents and intelligence to the Lagos TOC and notify patrol boats operating within the area of responsibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Degree in a relevant field of study is required.

• A post-graduate diploma or Master's degree is considered a plus.

• A background in security or maritime disciplines is advantageous.

• Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training (BOSIET), including Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), is necessary.

• Completion of security courses such as ISPS, SSO (Ship Security Officer), CSO, PFSO, or similar is preferred.

• First Aid training is required.

• HSE training must be completed.

• Relevant experience in the security and/or maritime industry for a minimum of three (3) years is desirable but not mandatory.

• Experience in any other field within a corporate environment is also acceptable.

• Skills in incident management are essential.

• Knowledge of facility/personnel security is important.

• Familiarity with communications security is required.

• Understanding of basic physical security countermeasures is necessary.

• Strong communication skills, including report writing and clear, concise verbal communication with clients, are required.

• Ability in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making is important.

• Administrative proficiency is necessary.

• An understanding of health and safety practices is required.

• A desire to learn and advance within the role is essential.
