This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maldives.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service marine engines along with associated mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel and outboard engines.
• Identify engine faults, mechanical failures, unusual noises, vibrations, overheating, and performance concerns.
• Examine engine oil, coolant, fuel systems, belts, filters, hoses, batteries, and other engine components.
• Disassemble, assess, repair, replace, and reassemble faulty engine components.
• Diagnose and rectify issues in fuel, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, and starting systems.
• Execute engine oil and filter changes as well as scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Ensure correct engine alignment, lubrication, adjustments, and calibration.
• Inspect propeller shafts, couplings, gearboxes, transmission systems, and other mechanical elements.
• Address engine breakdowns and mechanical problems impacting vessel operations.
• Test engines post-repair to confirm safe and efficient operation before vessels resume service.
• Maintain precise records of inspections, repairs, servicing, spare parts, and maintenance activities.
• Report significant defects, recurring issues, and necessary replacement parts to the supervisor.
• Keep tools and workshop areas tidy, organized, and in optimal working condition.
• Adhere to manufacturer maintenance schedules, technical specifications, marine safety protocols, company policies, and relevant maritime regulations.
• Technical qualification, diploma, or certificate in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience as a Marine Mechanic, Marine Engine Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or in a comparable technical role.
• Hands-on experience with marine diesel engines and/or outboard engines.
• Familiarity with marine propulsion systems, gearboxes, cooling systems, fuel systems, and mechanical parts.
• Capability to read and comprehend basic technical manuals, engine specifications, and maintenance guidelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a technical team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working onboard vessels and in marine settings.
