Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Assist Agriculture Specialists and Soil Scientists by gathering agricultural samples such as soil, leaves, and water.

• Collect soil, water, leaf, petiole, and other samples from farms in accordance with the relevant SOPs.

• Record location data using Trimble or MYFARMWEB™ CAPTURE.

• Fill out the appropriate online job card for each sample, ensuring data is captured accurately.

• Dispatch samples and associated paperwork to the designated laboratories.

• Complete weekly machine checklists.

• Undertake ad hoc or related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• National Senior Certificate.

• Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English, both spoken and written.

• Proficient in computer usage.

• Capable of lifting and carrying over 12 pounds/6kg comfortably.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Comfortable with routine tasks while being adaptable to ad hoc situations.

• Ability to perform under pressure.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

• A qualification in Agriculture will be advantageous.

• Previous experience in agriculture is a plus.

• Must own or be able to acquire a suitable pickup truck (bakkie).

• Availability to work every second Saturday, as required.

• Willingness to travel extensively, both locally and internationally.

• Prepared to work long hours when necessary.
