Marine Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly with marine clients to support the ongoing growth of the company.

• Execute diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on MTU engines across various marine applications.

• Carry out sea trials and assess engine performance, making necessary adjustments as required.

• Keep service records and documentation up to date to ensure operational efficiency.

• Provide guidance, support, and training to apprentice marine technicians.

• Travel within the designated region and occasionally outside the area, including potential international assignments.

• Work on marine diesel engines that power defense, first responders, and global supply chains.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in high-speed marine engine repair.

• Mechanical experience with marine diesel engines (e.g., Cummins, CAT, John Deere, MTU, Detroit Diesel, Mitsubishi, MAN, Volvo Penta, Yanmar).

• Familiarity with MTU MCS/RCS electronics and Diasys software is preferred.

• Experience with MDEC, ADEC, or DDEC systems is preferred.

• Knowledge of ECU7, ECU8, and ECU9 software is preferred.

• Proficient with tools and technical diagnostics.

• Strong laptop/PC skills for diagnostics and software applications.

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and interpret service manuals.

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical schooling is a plus.

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to obtain insurance.

• Must possess a personal set of mechanic tools.

• Valid passport or the ability to acquire one.

• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or the ability to obtain one.

• Capacity to complete company-provided manufacturer training both online and in person.

• Willingness to travel frequently within an assigned territory, with the potential for extended travel outside the region.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
