Apprentice – UPS Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Assist in testing and repairing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and batteries

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections under supervision

• Aid in troubleshooting and repairing UPS systems along with related electrical components

• Respond to emergency calls 24/7 when required

• Acquire skills to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

• Keep accurate service records and documentation

• Follow all safety programs and policies

• Engage in on-the-job training and classroom education

• Maintain and secure company tools and equipment

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is mandatory

• Technical or vocational training in electrical or electronics is preferred

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices

• Mechanical aptitude is essential

• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools

• Strong desire to learn and develop professionally

• Capability to follow detailed instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to collaborate within a team and communicate effectively

• Capacity to work in data centers, industrial sites, and various other environments

• Valid driver’s license with auto insurance

• Computer literacy with the ability to perform basic operations on administrative software

• Well-organized and capable of working independently

• Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds

• Must reside within the Quad Cities Area during the one-year Apprentice Program

• Familiarity with battery systems, inverters, or power distribution equipment is preferred but not mandatory

• Experience with multimeters and other diagnostic tools is preferred but not mandatory

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred but not mandatory
