Manufacturing Lead, Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the evaluation and acceptance of engineering deliverables in accordance with Feldspar's requirements documentation.

• Collaborate with partner engineers to establish acceptance testing methods and ensure work packages meet their acceptance criteria.

• Manage the strategy for transitioning manufacturing into contract manufacturing.

• Lead technical assessments of potential manufacturers, focusing on component versus assembly capabilities, quality systems, and scaling processes.

• Ensure the completeness of the transfer package, which should be Feldspar-owned and genuinely transferable, including design documents, work instructions, jigs, fixtures, tooling, test equipment, and calibration methods.

• Build quality foundations for low-volume production, encompassing per-unit traceability, calibration records, test outcomes, goods-in and end-of-line testing, along with quality plans for venue builds.

• Oversee the product certification roadmap, ensuring compliance with relevant product safety, materials, and sport governing body standards.

• Maintain supplier commercial practices, including rate structures, quote validity, ownership of tooling and test equipment, transparency in materials costs, and a documented change control process.

• Provide manufacturing quotes that are reviewed and aligned with the budget.

• Create and advance the contract manufacturing transfer readiness checklist.

• Set certification roadmap timelines and designate responsible parties.

• Facilitate venue builds through a defined quality and acceptance process.

• Implement per-unit traceability across all production units.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in transitioning electro-mechanical products from prototype to contract manufacturing, preferably with sensor-based or precision measurement products.

• Practical experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and design-for-manufacture methodologies.

• Ability to challenge engineering partners regarding scope, effort, and testing methods comfortably.

• Experience in supplier development and management across fabrication, electronics, and assembly.

• Familiarity with product certification regulations for electro-mechanical products.

• Quality management experience within an ISO 9001 environment or equivalent.

• Capability to thrive in an early-stage setting: practical, hands-on, and able to implement just enough processes.

• Willingness to travel internationally.

• Desirable: experience with manufacturing transitions from the UK to Asia.

• Desirable: experience with calibrated or certified measurement hardware.
