Manual Tester, APIs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design and documentation of test cases based on user stories, acceptance criteria, technical specifications, and API contracts (Swagger/OpenAPI).

• Execution of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end validation tests on APIs and microservices architectures.

• Validation of API requests and responses, HTTP codes, headers, JSON/XML payloads, and business rules.

• Verification of integrations between microservices, external systems, databases, and messaging components.

• Logging, documenting, and tracking of defects.

• Creation of test evidence, execution reports, and quality metrics.

• Communication with Development, QA, Product, and Architecture teams for analysis and resolution of incidents.

• Validation of data at the database level.

• Maintenance and updating of test cases, test plans, and documentation.

• Participation in deployment validation and testing in QA, UAT, and controlled Production environments.

• Collaboration with functional, technical, and business specialists to implement and integrate solutions and systems.

• Contribution to customer satisfaction through value-added services and products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Knowledge of REST API and SOAP service architecture.

• Understanding of microservices architectures and integration flows between systems.

• Validation of service contracts using Swagger/OpenAPI.

• Basic knowledge of authentication and authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys).

• Experience in log analysis and traceability for error identification.

• Basic knowledge of performance, load, and stress testing.

• Experience with ALM / Quality Center, Jira, and Trello.

• Azure DevOps experience is desirable.

• Experience with Postman and SOAP UI.

• Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI.

• Insomnia experience is desirable.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of JMeter.

• Basic to intermediate SQL skills for data validation, queries, and information reconciliation.

• Proficiency in Git.

• Experience conducting API tests in distributed environments and microservices architectures.

• Basic knowledge of API test automation using Postman/Newman, Karate, or Rest Assured.

• Familiarity with Kibana, Grafana, Splunk, or Dynatrace.

• Experience validating integrations between APIs, databases, and asynchronous messaging systems.

• Ability to work under pressure, maintain quality in work, and focus on results.

• Professionals with experience are preferred.
